Thirty six patients with diabetes referred to a private clinic in Bojnourd were included in the study with convenient sampling method and randomly divided into two groups of 18 patients . The experimental groups received an 8 session MBSR intervention. For assessing the quality of life, Sf36 questionnaires and Brief Symptom Inventory (BSI ) were administered in pretest, posttest and a 2- month follow up. The mixed variance analysis was used for the statistical analysis using SPSS.

The interaction effect between groups and the time of evaluation on mental health ( F=15.989, p<0.001) and quality of life (F=16.609, p<0.001) was statistically significant. the results also represented that these effects were stable or had a slight change in follow-up which reflects the lasting effects of the intervention.
