Abstract

Abstract Background & Objectives: chest pain control is one of the most important components of guidelines for acute myocardial infarction. An analgesic effect of glucose, insulin potassium solution has been suggested in a few studies. Hence this study was performed to evaluate the effect of this solution on the intensity of chest pain in patients with myocardial infarction. Materials & Methods: This randomized clinical trial enrolled 72 patients who had myocardial infarction that was treated with 25% glucose, 50 unit of soluble insulin per liter, and 80 mille mol of potassium chloride per liter at 1 ml/kg/hour (case group) or normal saline (control group) as adjunct to thrombolytic therapy. We evaluated pain intensity at baseline, after receiving thrombolytic therapy and 1 hour later, in both groups by a Numeric Rating Scale. Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS 15. Variables were compared using independent t tests and repeated measure ANOVA or chi-square test. Results: In both groups pain intensity after receiving streptokinase and an hour later dropped, but there was no significant differences between two groups (P = 0.121). Difference between intravenous drug consumption in the two groups was not significant (P = 0.93). Conclusion: The administration of potassium, glucose, insulin has no effect on chest pain in patients with myocardial infarction.

Abstract

Abstract Background & Objective: Self efficacy emphasizes on individual belief about behavior, and belief to this point that to what extent health control is voluntary can be as appropriate health behavior. The purpose of this study is determination of the effect of belief in internal health locus of control on the efficacy rate for doing mammography in women. Materials & Methods: The cross sectional study was done in city of sabzevar in 1391. The study consisted of all Women with family history of breast cancer. With simple random sampling and during interview, 150 eligible women were enrolled to this study. Instrument validity through face and content validity and the construct validity. Further, the instruments’ reliability was assessed using Cronbach's alpha and retest reliability. SPSS software version 21 was used for the analysis of the data. Further, AMOS software version 16 was used for the construct validity self efficacy scale. Moreover, pearson's and stepwise regression tests were applied to study theoretical relationships. A statistically significant test was defined as a P-value below 0.05 in the study. Results: The mean age of the sample was 44.48 (6.88). The highest score was related to internal health locus of control with 30.65(3.13). A statistically significant relationship was found between self efficacy and internal health locus of control, (P < 0.01). Step wise regression showed with one unit increase in internal health locus of control increase 0.534 in self efficacy variable. Conclusion Significant relation is between internal health locus of control and self efficacy.

Abstract

Background & Objectives: Relationship between family functioning and psychological characteristics of the individual is one of the most important discussions of family therapy. Schizophrenia and bipolar I disorder are very common in hospitalized patients. So we decided to investigate and campare the family functioning between these two groups of patients.

Material & Methods: In this case control study 50 patients with schizophrenia , 50 patients with bipolar I disorder and control group consists of 50 different professions were evaluated by family assessment device scale (FAD-I). Final results of the three groups were compared by SPSS V21 software.

Results: Findings indicate a significant difference between the two groups with the control group. Family dysfunction in patients with schizophrenia in both sexes was more severe than patients with bipolar I disorder. But in terms of age, significant differences between the two groups was found only in patients 20 to 40 years.

Conclusion: Based on the results of this study due to more severe impairment of family functioning  in patients with schizophrenia, it seems that family therapy as an adjunctive treatment could be helpful.

Key words: Family functioninig , Schizophrenia, Bipolar I disorder

Abstract

Introduction: The large body of research, from theorizing to empirical findings, suggests that positive cognitive Re-evaluation of trauma may further support positive post-traumatic outcomes by enhancing post-traumatic growth. The aim of this study was to investigate the direct and indirect role coping strategies, core beliefs disruption, social support, spirituality, religious cope and intrusive rumination with PTG and also examining the mediating role of positive re-evaluation and rumination were within the framework of a causal model.
Methods: The present study was a cross-sectional study that was done using causal modeling methods that included path analysis and structural equation modeling. The statistical population included all cancer patients who referred to Omid Oncology Hospital and Imam Reza Oncology Ward in Mashhad in 1398. Sampling method was available. 420 patients with cancer answered the questionnaires used in this study. Data were analyzed using SPSS-16 version and PLS software (version2).
Results: The findings generally showed that positive Re-evaluation mediated between post-traumatic growth and social support variables, presence and search for meaning, positive religious cope, negative religious cope, deliberate rumination, and core beliefs disruption. Deliberate rumination was also a mediator between growth and core beliefs disruption and automatic rumination. On the other hand, social support, presence and search for meaning, core beliefs disruption and deliberate rumination, problem-based and emotion-based coping methods had a direct and positive effect, and intrusive rumination and self-distraction coping had a direct and negative effect on growth.
Conclusions: The results of the present study showed that in addition to confirming the direct paths of coping, social support, spirituality, deliberate rumination, core beliefs disruption in growth, positive re-evaluation of one of the explanatory passages of social support paths, religious cope, spirituality, intrusive rumination, core beliefs disruption It was about post-traumatic growth.
