Introduction: The main cause of most accidents in the workplace has been unsafe behaviors of individuals with a Weakness of the safety culture in the organization.The purpose of the present study is to assess Investigation of the relationship between safety culture and unsafe Behavior among the workers case study of the profiling industry Ekbatan.
Methods: This study was descriptive-analytic- Cross sectional and was conducted in a metal industry. Safety culture was investigated through a questionnaire developed in ten aspects. To measure the rate of unsafe behavior Safety Sampling Behavior was used. The data were analyzed by SPSS 16 and Excel software.
Results: The mean score of safety culture was obtained to be 287 ± 43.42.The mean for the rate of unsafe behaviours of workers was 46%. The highest and the lowest rate of unsafe behaviours were respectively related to failure to frequently apply headphones and throwing tools. Conclusions: Mean score of safety culture of workers was estimated to be positive. The results of the study showed that there is a significant relationship between the score of safety culture and The percentage of unsafe behavior of workers (P = 0.032). This means that with the increase of the safety culture due to reduced unsafe behaviors. It can be concluded that improvement of secure behaviours will promote safety culture. In order to improve safety culture and secure behaviours it is suggested to develop and implement educational programs based on need analysis and also to actively and collaboratively examine the effectiveness programs.
